German media: Bischoff, who plays left back, is learning to be a versatile player. He may need to give way after Davis returns.

Bayern's new summer aid Bischof has performed well after adapting, but he is currently playing a left-back position that he is unfamiliar with. German media sport1 wrote an article stating that his current role is that of a challenger and a learning all-rounder, but his current positive momentum may be interrupted soon.

In the game against Leverkusen, Bischof's assist for Gnabry was almost more exciting than the latter's goal. Sports director Eber even called the pass "world-class." But that wasn't the only highlight of Bischof's game: after some initial difficulties, his overall performance was remarkable and he was extremely solid on the ball - despite being deployed in a position that was unfamiliar to him: left-back.

This task is actually something the 20-year-old player did not expect at all - when SPORT1 asked him what kind of prospects coach Kompany painted for him when he signed this summer, Bischof said: "He said I was planned to be placed at the 6th position. I think That's still his plan. I think that will happen again."

Bischoff should probably not be too sure about this, because Bayern has a lot of talent in the defensive midfield: Kimmich's position is almost fixed, and Pavlovich and Goretzka take turns playing next to him. Although Bischoff's ability is enough that he does not have to hide from competition, he may not be able to surpass these two at present. He may need to wait until Goretzka may leave the team next summer before he has the opportunity to take over that position.

Prior to this, Bischof was satisfied with his role as a challenger and as he was learning to become a versatile player. He was not the first player to be transformed into a full-back due to Bayern's oversupply of midfielders: Laimer, who also joined as a defensive midfielder, is the best example. Bischof said: "I am currently satisfied with my position as a left-back."

The fact is: Bischof has a good position in the team, and: all this has become much easier for him. Because within Bayern, the era when a few "boss" dominated the locker room has passed.

Kimmich explained on Saturday night that when he joined Bayern more than ten years ago, things were completely different: "We also had more egos in the team back then. For me - especially as a young player at that time - it was really difficult to integrate into the team."

Now, Bischof has felt this change in Bayern's locker room firsthand, and said Said: "Of course, people always say that the atmosphere in the locker room of a big club like Bayern is different. It is true, but the way we get along with each other is really good. Everyone can laugh with everyone, which is the style I like."

The report also stated that what worries the young player may be that Alphonso Davis' comeback is approaching step by step. Davis is expected to return to the official game in January at the latest, at which time he will reoccupy his position on the left, which also means that Bischoff's playing opportunities will be compressed. Therefore, he should cherish and take advantage of the current positive momentum, and his performance against Leverkusen was already a good start.
