Halliburton: Everyone felt very heartwarming last summer, but negative remarks made us more determined
Today, the G1 Pacers defeated the Thunder 111-110 away, leading 1-0 with a big score. Halliburton was interviewed after the game.
Halliburton said: "We played a good offensive last year and were swept by the Eastern Conference Finals (Celtics). All the discussions focused on our unworthy entry into the finals and how luck helped us. This made everyone angry, and we were carrying this heartwarming mood all summer. At the beginning of the new season, there were constant doubts about us and the performance in the previous few months was not satisfactory, which made more people start to laugh and negatively comment on us."
"As a team, We take everything seriously, not just the players, but the coaching staff did a great job of blocking the outside world’s comments. As players, we discuss these things in the locker room, in the plane. While we are a young team and may spend too much time on social media, we turn these criticisms into motivation well, which gives us more confidence. I am proud of this team. Whenever someone makes negative comments about any of us, we will firmly support each other.” Halliburton added.
In this game, Halliburton played for 38 minutes, made 6 of 13 shots, 2 of 7 three-pointers, and scored 14 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists in 0 free throws.
