Cobe: CSD will deal with Real Madrid s objection to the overseas La Liga in accordance with the "public interest"
Recently, Urivez, chairman of the Spanish Sports Senior Council, said that they will handle Real Madrid's objection to the La Liga game in Miami in "public interest".
Urivez confirmed that they have received a document submitted by Real Madrid and FIFA and UEFA, but have not carefully studied its contents. He said that a decision will only be made after a detailed review of the arguments and relevant regulations in the documents.
Urives pointed out that they need to evaluate whether the game will have an impact on other clubs, which is one of the main reasons for Real Madrid's opposition: "We must weigh the arguments, consider the role of the High Council of Sports in it, and whether we have the right to act according to the regulations. In addition, we need to consider Real Madrid's request, UEFA, FIFA, Spanish Football Association and La Liga."
Urives also mentioned that he will study the matter with the "Director of the General Administration of Sports" and "National Lawyer": "When we receive the documents, we will act according to law and make decisions based on our authority and public interest." He added that he has not spoken with La Liga president Tebas or Spanish Football Association president Luzan on the matter.
In addition, Urivez emphasized that the registration issue of Olmo at the end of last season is different from the ones that Barcelona may have encountered about Joan Garcia and Rashford: "Last season we responded to an appeal, and don't forget that unless there is a conflict to be resolved, the Sports Senior Council will not usually intervene."
"We always try to find solutions that are in the public interest or protect the rights of athletes, as required by the Sports Act. In the case of Olmo, we made a decision at the request of the player himself and the Barcelona club. But this is not a universal rule. The Sports Senior Council will not interfere in the registration matters unless there is a dispute and we need to make a decision."
