World Sports: Cairo National Delegation visited Barcelona, establish friendly relations and exchange experiences

According to World Sports, Cairo National President Mahmoud Katibu and Red Castle President Mohamed Carmel and his delegation visited Barcelona on Tuesday. The meeting was based on the friendly relations between the two clubs and aimed at exchanging experiences.

Barcelona Sports Vice Chairman Rafa Ust and museum director Pennas also participated in the reception, and Dr. Al Kadi, member of the board of directors and director of the technical committee of Cairo National Club, and Muktal Omar, head of the business department, also attended the meeting.

According to the official website of Cairo Nationals, Laporta welcomed the visiting delegation of "Red Fort" (any name for Cairo Nationals). Cairo Nationals is one of the most successful football clubs in Egypt. It has won the domestic league championship 45 times and has 300,000 members. It enjoys a high reputation in African football and has won the title of the highest-level African event in 12 times. Like Barcelona, Cairo Nationals is also a multi-athletic sports club with its chairman elected by members.

The two sides had a constructive dialogue on the experience accumulated by Barcelona during the development of the new Camp Nou, and discussed how to use the latest scientific and technological achievements to enhance interaction with fans. In addition, the Barcelona Museum has attracted a large number of tourists with its rich content and has become one of the most popular cultural attractions in the Catalonian region, which has also attracted the interest of representatives of Al Ahli.

El Katib expressed his gratitude to Laporta for his warm hospitality and praised his recognition of Cairo's national history and the fan base. He also proposed that the two parties can carry out productive cooperation in multiple fields and invited Laporta to visit the club as soon as possible.

Going further, he even asked if it is possible to have Barcelona as an opponent in their new stadium debut match to unveil in 2029. It is worth mentioning that Barcelona went to Cairo to participate in a friendly match in April 2007, when they won the game with goals from Etoo, Saviola and Boyan.

Meanwhile, Mohamed Carmel expressed satisfaction with the long-awaited partnership and stressed that Red Castle will be committed to applying international best practices to its stadium construction projects. Against this backdrop, he showed Barcelona the latest progress in the project, including achievements in infrastructure construction.
