Danilo: Juve s mental outlook is better than before. When I saw Yildiz, I thought he was very good.

In an interview, Brazilian defender Danilo, the former Juventus captain and currently playing for Flamengo, reviewed his decision to leave Juventus and talked about the team's problems last season and his views on current coach Tudor.

Why did you decide to return to Brazil and join Flamengo?

Danilo: I didn’t originally think about going back to Brazil, but then something happened and I chose Flamengo to try to win. I played football not just to enjoy it.

Looking back on your decision to leave Juventus, do you have any regrets?

Danilo: I have no regrets. Until the last day, I gave everything in my heart: hard work, dedication, desire to stay, love for the club. I learned a lot at Juventus and sacrificed a lot. It's over because life is like this, things happen for a reason. Maybe it's not clear at the moment, but I think it will be clearer in a few years.

What do you think of Juventus' current situation? It seems different than last season.

Danilo: In times like this, unity is needed and everyone must help each other. Now that there is the Champions League, the challenge against Real Madrid could be an opportunity. Juventus never gives up in the face of difficulties. But looking at it from the outside, I do feel like the mentality is different compared to a year ago, the attitude is different, and there's a chemistry between players and coaches now that you didn't see before. Of course, it all depends on the results in the end.

What do you think of Coach Tudor?

Danilo: They need to be patient. They replaced several players and the transfer market started late, which affected their preparations. It won't be an easy year for Juve, but I have faith in Tudor.

How do you evaluate the young player Yildiz?

Danilo: When I talk about Yildiz, I can’t help but laugh. As early as the Allegri era, when he rotated between the first team and the U23s, you could see that he was different. Many times after training, Allegri and I would stop and talk: "This guy is going to be really good," and that's what we said at the time. It was a great pleasure to see Yildiz wearing Juve's number 10 shirt and occasionally the captain's armband. He is a very serious and talented young man who works hard and can definitely represent Juventus.
